Our lumber suppliers are members of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). As members of AF&PA they participate in the Sustainable Forestry Initiative from which they certified as following practices that will sustain our forests and protect our environment. Sustainable Forestry Certification is independently audited and overseen by environmentalists, scientists and government.

The AF&PA web site says in part "The Sustainable Forestry Initiative^SM program is a comprehensive system of principles, objectives and performance measures that integrates the perpetual growing and harvesting of trees with the protection of wildlife, plants, soil and water quality. Simply stated, it's working with nature to ensure the future of the nation's forests for our children and grandchildren. And it's based on the premise that responsible environmental practices and sound business practices can be integrated to the benefit of landowners, shareholders, customers and the people they serve."
