Cut off lumber we produce is recycled in two ways.
First long cutoffs are used for webs (short truss members) in our trusses. Second, unusable scrap
is ground up for use as horse bedding, playground cover, mulch, and other wood
fiber applications.
The companies that turn Southern Yellow Pine into
lumber, manufacture paper out of the same trees. Chambers Truss recycles paper
and paper products.
We even recycle peanut sacks, click
here to see how.
Wood trusses are held together by metal connector
plates. We recycle scrap metal connector plate and metal banding straps.
We also recycle other materials such as aluminum
cans.
The material we recycle not only is reused and does not end up in the ever growing mountain of garbage at the edge of town.
